It also has modes for configurable buffering and tag filtering that reduces redundancy in tagged data streams. It further assists in reducing LAN traffic and server loading. It is also installed with adaptable parameters that offer a maximized throughput for optimal performance.

In addition, the tag reading device usually has definite basic hardware components that enable it to function optimally. They include; the bar-code scanner, antenna reader, status view, charging option indicator, as well as the RFID and Bar-code power on indicators. They are all fitted to perform definite tasks executed by the software installed in the device.
