Oracle has openly proclaimed that the future of technology is in the Cloud and they are focusing on Cloud-based services with all of their innovative power. Hence, it's simple to see why Oracle is scrambling to expand to meet the demand specifically in Australia.
With many Australian businesses and individuals embracing the new cloud approach along with growing expectations, Oracle's expansion has allowed them to keep their data on-shore.
The new data center in Sydney
The second data center was opened a few days ago in Sydney, in a facility that is run by Equinix. A major priority for Oracle, that goes along with this cloud expansion, is delving into robust platform & system services. As they grow this new branch of platform & infrastructure solutions, it slates the beginning of Oracle's association with businesses such as Venys Consulting, i3000 and SDS Group.
Oracle's steadfast commitment to Australia
Oracle's president, Mike Hurd, was on location for the opening of the latest data center. He said that this data center showed Oracle's commitment not only to the market and IT industry but also to Australia as a whole.
He couldn't say enough positively about Australia's place amongst the more stable, leading markets. Although the investment made by Oracle for the new data center was substantial, Mr. Hurd refused to quantify it. He mentioned a specific need for business intelligence training courses to be available to aspiring Australian IT career-seekers. Oracle said that the demand for cloud services will only increase in the coming months and this new data center is their way of preparing for that demand.
