Making Your Family Security Priority One

By Bryant S. Cole

Most everyone will admit that a lot of what we do daily, we do for the good of not just ourselves, but also our family. Some would even say this is their driving force. We work harder and smarter to give them more. The emergency fund or rainy day money is for just that; an emergency. We continually build a security wall or shield to protect what is important to us; our family members and loved ones, to keep them safe. It is also just natural to re-examine our efforts and if possible find new and safer methods and use them to their fullest potential for our loved ones, both in the present and in the future.

It is common knowledge that it is crucial to give children inoculations at certain times in their lives. Having your child become ill with a preventable disease would be tragic as well as irresponsible if the cause was neglecting their vaccine. Protection from as many angles as possible is necessary.

Leaving a paper trail is something most everyone today's does without ever thinking about it. We have receipts with vital personal information that identifies who we are should certain entities ask. This information is on bank statements, business documents such as credit card and other account statements as well as photographed proof of valuables we have insured in our homes that can never be replaced should they go missing. These are things we have to secure and guard to keep ourselves and family safe as well.

In today's dangerous information climate there are other viable way to safely guard your personal information and other valuable things other than just paper and photographs. These for the most part are very fragile and will succumb to the powerful ravages of time if not stored correctly. Important documents have found a new home in small home safes as well as the much protected safety deposit box available at banking institutions everywhere.

The fact is though that a safety deposit box is still nothing more than a glorified metal box. It is housed in a bank, so you know it is a relatively secure location. That does not make it fully safe though. While it is extremely difficult for a safety deposit box to be invaded by an unauthorized individual, it is not quite as protected against an assault from Mother Nature. Fire, flood, and other natural disasters can destroy any building and all of its contents.

Scanning and saving your important documents in a secure location is both convenient and smart. It is just one way that the internet is making many tasks quicker and easier. No trip to the bank with documents that must be delivered in person. Any document can be scanned at home and then sent through an encrypted channel to be stored. Not only can the documents be uploaded from the location of your choice they can also be safely accessed, at any time and from any location.
