Where Is The Best Place To Buy A Kindle?

By Peter Gallo

The Kindle has been growing in popularity since 2007 and has shown no signs of ebbing off.

Everywhere you go it seems as though everyone has one except you.

If you are an avid reader and enjoy consuming large volumes of content, then this little e-reader is for you. Now, all you have to do is decide where to buy the Kindle. After you have purchased your Kindle, you'll see how easy it is to download books and other media.

If the books on your shelves have been collecting dust or you have been meaning to start reading again but just can't seem to eke out the time to check out a book at the nearby library, the Kindle can tackle both of these issues.

There are four types of Kindle devices, let's take a quick look at them shall we?

The 1st generation Kindle is $69. It is fast with built-in Wi-Fi. It is very lightweight and small.

The Kindle Paper-white has Wi-Fi as well a high resolution touch-screen with a built-in light. The cost of this model is $119.

The Kindle Keyboard 3G has an actual keyboard with audio, Wi-fi, and Free 3G; and it costs $139

The Kindle Paper-white 3G uses a higher contrast on its display. Just like the Kindle Paper-white, it has touch-screen, wi-fi, a built-in light, and wireless 3G for the low cost of $179.

Which Kindle Is Best For You?

The Kindle Keyboard 3G is my favorite e-reader out of all of them. It has an affordable price range with all of the features and functionality you need to download and enjoy all of your favorite reading material.

It has a lot of different features that really enhances your reading experience. Let's take a look at a few:

There are no fees to pay for the 3G wireless feature. It is completely free.

The Kindle Keyboard is as thick as a #2 lead pencil and weighs about the same as your favorite paperback novel. The actual weight of this model is 8.5oz.

One hand is all that is needed to hold the Kindle. You can have a drink in one hand while holding the Kindle in the other. To turn the page on the Kindle, there are buttons on both sides. So, a right-handed or left-handed person can use it with ease.

You can have your very own customized library at your fingertips. The Kindle Keyboard can store up to 3,500 e-books.

It has an extended battery life that can go for weeks between charging sessions.

The Kindle does not use an LCD screen that can cause glare. It uses e-Ink which mimics ink on paper and it does a real nice job at it. Reading in well and dim-lit conditions is not a problem. You can read for hours with the Kindle and not get uncomfortable.

I could write another entire article on how much I enjoy this e-reader but I won't.

Where Should You Buy The Kindle?

These are the obvious questions a person will ask when they are ready to try something out. If you are in doubt about the Kindle, the next time you are standing in line and the person in front of you has one in their hand; ask him or her was it worth the purchase?

A good place to start on where to buy a Kindle is on Amazon.

They offer free shipping on some models; and they often run specials and discounts throughout the year. You don't have to pay extra for fast shipping. You will get your new Kindle within 48 to 72 hours usually.

After you get your new e-reader, where do you buy Kindle e-books?

You can get books for free in the Kindle Library. This library has over 270,000 e-books and over 60,000 audio books to choose from. You also have unlimited access to the Kindle bookstore where you can read and download books from there.

With the free 3G wi-fi, you can be reading your new book in under 60 seconds after downloading it.

If you have old e-books collecting dust on your hard drive, you can easily upload them from your laptop to your Kindle. You can also upload large PDF files and read them on your Kindle. When you shop in the Kindle store to buy e-books, the e-books vary in prices from $0.99 to $9.99.
