A study on the FIM 2010 court reporter reveals that they can be able to work in a large number of fields. They can offer their services in courts, in state federal agencies, in trade associations, and in private firms. But before they can start performing they need to be licensed. This will give them the authority to do work in any field.

One must have an excellent ability to focus for a very long time. These individuals are usually involved in sessions that can last for a long period of time. There are also the real-time reporters who require a speed of two hundred words per hour. This is because they need to have an accurate computer text within a very short time. Without this speed it might be hard for them to transcript all the information that is recorded or said.

The electronic reporter is the other category that is in other instances referred to us the digital. Individual who specialize in this field record the spoken information fast into an audio recording device. This is later presented as recorded information by the audio device and they get to transcribe it to the form that is required.

The last category is that referred to us the stenographers. These are professional who present the spoken speech into the steno type machine. This is later transformed to a written form. This category requires that the person involved should have a very high speed of typing. This speed should be above three hundred words per minute.
