Whether you own a computer or you have a computer offered by your company, you must have experienced computer freeze at some point. And you might have called in professionals of repairing computers many times and spend a lot of money on that problem.

Wait! The professionals might be busy, and every time you might have to wait a day or even several days to have your computer freeze problem fixed.

What a agonizing wait!

When your computer locks up, the least thing to do is panic. You should know that no software is perfect, and the problem simply happens regardless of the type of your operating systems or length of your ownership.

Next, hit Control, Alt, and Delete if you are running Windows. The three are kinda like the over ride command for everything. Once you hit the combo, you shall see your Windows pop up.

Most of the time, just that alone will get your computer back to work again. As soon as it is back up, you shall immediately shut down the application that is not responding. It is very likely that the application is the cause your the locking up of your operating system.

If you have hit Control, Alt and Delete and your computer is still not responding, then it is time for you to try the reset button and power button.

Hit the reset button and you should see your computer reboot automatically.

True, resetting sucks, because you probably are in the middle of an important project and you will lose all your work by resetting the system. But at this point, you don't have another option. So let's hope your project has the auto-saving features so you can start from where you were locked up after you reset it.

If you've hit the reset button and your computer is still frozen up, then it means it is really locked up. If this happens, then try the power switch in the back of your computer. Most computers have a power switch. You reach behind your computer, flip the switch off and on, and then hit the power button. You should have your computer back at this point.

If your computer unfortunately doesn't have a power switch, you will have to physically unplug the power line of your computer and plug it back in again. Then hit the power button and you shall unfreeze your computer.

If you haven't been able to unfreeze your computer to this point, then it's time to call in a professional or send your computer to a computer repairing shop to have it repaired. The problem might be your logic board or hard drive, and it's better to leave the work to a professional.
