Know Hard Drive Formatting

Many people now days, want to know how to repair their computer all by themselves and sometimes this involves formatting a hard drive and reinstalling Windows. Formatting their own computer ware never an option before just to repair their computer and this is true when computers where still not a common household object. However, formatting a hard disk drive and reinstalling Windows is now quite an easy process in today's generation.

An important note to please that you need to be aware of in doing a format hard drive process is that, you will be wiping everything off of the drive. The first step that you need to do is to backup your system to an external hard drive, or online backup service. In the formatting process, you need to have all the things that you may need like all important software program disks, Windows disk and any hardware disk.

The first thing that you must remember is that, every file and documents that you have on your computer will be deleted. The e-mail contacts, photos, any customizations, are just few of the things that will be included in the deletion. People often ignore this fact and will always wonder where all their precious files are after the formatting process of a computer.

The different things that you will need to format the computer :

1. The Windows operating system CD or DVD, is the first thing that you need to have. 2. A corresponding certificate of authenticity sticker on the side of your computer is the second thing that you need to have. 3. Thirdly, you will need a system disk that includes your drivers. 4. The next thing you need to have is the CD or DVD drive to where you insert your disk. 5. To reinstall your newly formatted hard drive, you will need your files backed up safely and available.

There is similarities in formatting a hard disk, whether what kind of operating system you are using. Even if you are trying to format your hard drive using Windows XP, it is still very similar to formatting using Windows Vista or Windows 7.

The way to start the process of formatting and reinstalling Windows :

1. Ensuring that your computer boots to it is simply done after inserting the operating system CD in the CD or DVD drive. 2. In all Windows version, you will be seeing a message that says: "press any key to boot from CD or DVD..." Any key should be pressed in the keyboard for you to proceed. 3. This will then start the process to reinstall Windows. The setup files will be transferred to your computer and the fund will begin.

After starting the process to format your computer and reinstall Windows, you will then be confronting some step by step actions and questions to be answered. The tip that I can share with you which is the best is to simply read the screen and take your time when answering questions or moving to the next screen. You do not have to rush especially if Windows is starting to set up.
