iPad Cases - Keep Your iPad Secure

By Clarence Spoon

Congratulations on the purchase of your Apple product! iPads are expensive, as you know, and now that you're the lucky owner of one, you'll want to take good care of it. There are many types and brands of iPad and iPad 2 cases, which protect your iPad from scratches and falls. If you've never shopped for Apple accessories before, here are some pointers for choosing an iPad case.

Firstly, your iPad case must be the exact size of your product. This is to ensure that the case covers and protects the entirety of your iPad. If your case is too small, your iPad will not fit inside the case. If the case is too large, the iPad will not fit securely inside the case, potentially leading to scratches or other damage on your new toy.

iPad cases are marketed in a variety of materials: one of the best choices is leather. One example of a leather case is the Cygnett Folio. It covers both the front and back of the iPad and opens like a book.

Leather is sturdy and resistant to damage -- it looks good too! Leather cases are stylish and classic while remaining durable. Leather is also soft and a leather case can cushion your iPad if it happens to fall. Leather cases can be somewhat expensive, but they offer a great deal of protection -- as well as style -- if you choose to buy a leather iPad case.

If you are looking for a more affordable option, rubber cases are a good alternative. One such case is the Marware MicroShell iPad 2 case. A rubber case will cushion your iPad, and will also help prevent accidental falls due to slipping. There are many styles of rubber cases to choose from, and you can choose a color that matches your personality.

One feature that is often found on laptop cases is a zippered closure. If laptop cases have this protection, so should iPad cases. One example of a zippered case is the Hard Candy Bubble Sleeve Case. Its rubber texture provides a soft cover for the gadget, making it very resistant to shocks. The zipper will secure the iPad in its case, preventing any accidental falls. An extremely strong and durable case, no wonder you have to pay over $50 for it!

The iPads' features must also be taken into account. iPad 2s have two cameras (one on each side), so make sure your iPad 2 case has two holes to accommodate them. Also, the iPad 2 doesn't have a home page button, and won't need a case with a cutaway for it.

Another nice feature on many iPad cases is a magnetic closure. This is especially useful for moments when you need to easily open and close the case. However, be careful with the magnets in the closure. These magnets can cause damage to the internal components of your iPad, possibly leading to a malfunction. It may be preferable to chose a zipper closure instead of a magnetic enclosure.
