How Much For Shipping? - Asset Finance Software Review

By Bella King

That money is effectively, already "spent" and my bills are evenly distributed every month. I actually had my car taxes and all Christmas presents "paid for" by August of this year.

It gives you a simple, straight forward way to see how each purchase, each bill, each dollar leaving and entering your account affects all the dollars around it. Every couple years I see money rolling out of my pockets like a cheap strainer, and get the gumption to budget. While that's too much for me, there will be some who won't be bothered by it. I'd recommend to the software designers fewer fancy graphics effects and more text-based reports. It's easy to look at your bank account and think "I'm doing alright," only to be hit with a bill you'd forgotten about. With YNAB, you plan for every bill. I can honestly say that I've already saved enough money by using YNAB to pay for itself several times over. I've tried MS Money, but it was a nightmare to figure out. YNAB does that, but it also helps you budget and plan for *future* expenses. In my opinion this is what makes the program so valuable. Although it does have reporting features, it is not designed with the purpose to help you track your finances, or set up an IRA, or track you're spending for tax purposes like a lot of other programs have. If you have no interest in living off a budget this software is not for you. Overall, though, it's hard to beat the power and simplicity of this program. While it's not immediately intuitive, to anyone willing to understand the "YNAB Way" and work with the four rules, this software program can provide powerfully simple assistance in budgeting. It makes sense! I actually look forward to reconciling my bank account every week. I've been using some form of financial software for at least 10 years.

This program is exactly was it claims. Our only issue is that is takes a lot of time & focus to set up. This program is a must have to get your financial house in order. I was looking for this type of program since Money 2000!

We are going to be working toward this. He shows you were your money is going in several different forms, which is very helpful. Thumbs up to this budgeting tool! After wasting hundreds of dollars on Mint.com, Quicken, and Mvelopes, I gave up on budgeting software programs.

I bought YNAB Pro last July, and since then, I have made measurable progress in the form of a paid off credit card, a steadily growing savings account and an upcoming annual car insurance payment that I'll be able to pay in full. If you want to be proactive with your finances, you should seriously consider YNAB.
